Reasons to Keep A Clean Workspace

office carpet cleaning
While having a tidy office is critical to creating a great first impression and increasing employee morale, there potentially could be some harmful germs lurking inside your employees’ workspaces which have to be addressed. Just because those germs are out of sight does not mean they ought to be ignored. Below we list some places your employees ought to be aware of, and consistently clean with disinfecting spray or wipes in order to avoid illness.

Telephones are teeming with bacteria and germs. Because telephones are held so close to someone’s mouth, it’s crucial that they’re regularly cleaned in order to prevent the spreading of germs from user to user. While cleaning telephones, do not simply clean its mouth piece, make certain that you clean the whole handset.

Computer Keyboards

Computer keyboards are known for being covered in food residue and germs. Make certain to consistently unplug the keyboard, tap it on the back softly to remove all food debris that’s lodged between its keys then wipe it using a suitable cleaner.

A desktop is the perfect bacteria breeding ground. Foods, hands, and paperwork which have been spread around the work place all contaminate tops of desks with germs which could result in sickness. Week-to-week cleaning using disinfectant is going to keep the risk of getting ill at bay.

Chair Arms

Not many folks give consideration to the arms of their chairs as something that needs to be cleaned. Just imagine how many times per day your hands touch the arms of your chairs, contaminating them with germs from the computer keyboard, phone, as well as desktop. While wiping other parts of their workspaces down, employees also ought to wipe their chairs down.

Having a less than amazing cleaning service might be costing your company thousands of dollars each year in sick days, as well as lost productivity. It’s vital that staff members take a little time every week to disinfect their personal workspaces, particularly within cold and flu season.

Temporary Fixes

carpet cleaning services
You are one of the lucky few who have scheduled regular carpet cleaning care with us at King’s Cleaning Solutions. If you have not, chances are you don’t consider carpet cleaning until it becomes apparent that the carpet is in desperate need of a deep cleaning.

We have a full time schedule that we keep with our regular customers and of course, our new customers that are coming in daily. This means it may be a little while, up to a week, before we can make it to your home or business and get your carpet looking new again. In the meantime, here are a few suggestions you can do to help forestall the problem until we show up. These are only bandages on a worse problem – so do not use these suggestions as a way to resolve your carpet cleaning needs.

While we want you to remember to contact us for carpet cleaning, you can help ameliorate the problem with a quick spot treatment. Remember – those treatments you can buy or rent will not work nearly as well as our professional, commercial equipment. If you are in a pinch and need something done fast, start with vinegar and baking soda sprayed on the stain. Put a damp cloth over the stain. Use an iron with the steam setting and iron lightly. This will help pull some, not all, of the stain up and out. Do not try this on fine rugs.

Unless you have a large sectional piece of furniture that does not easily move, you can rearrange the furniture in the house briefly to cover the stains. Let us know when we get there that you have done this so we can move the furniture out of the way and get to the problem. This is by far the easiest and quickest fix.

There is no substitute for regular carpet cleaning with your friends at King’s Cleaning Solutions. If you are a regular reader of our blog, you will note that the scheduled cleanings will do more good for your carpet in the long run and save you money to boot.

Carpet Water

Hurricane Florence has left us, but the damage this storm left behind is catastrophic to say the very least. Some people are still without power while others are working on getting back into their homes. It is a terrible tragedy, and the team at King’s Cleaning Solutions wants everyone to know they are in our thoughts during this time.

Water damage, no matter how much or little, is very difficult to deal with as a homeowner. The fibers and padding of a carpet quickly soak up as much moisture as possible, and removing the moisture is very difficult to say the least.

The type of water damage plays heavily into whether or not the carpet can be salvaged. Some water damage, such as from a leaky pipe in the home, is considered safe. Water from a major storm, however, is a different matter. This water is laden with bacteria and other potentially dangerous elements that may render the carpet and home unsafe. You will need a professional to come in and change your carpet and padding.

Meanwhile, we at King’s Cleaning Solutions do have a few suggestions to hold you over until we can get there to help you. Read on to see what we mean.

1. Get that carpet as dry as you can as much as you can – Drying carpet inhibits growth of mold and mildew. If you can, dry as much of the carpet as possible. Get fans blowing across the surface to help wick moisture away.

2. Avoid contact – Let the carpet dry as much as possible. Get as much furniture as you can out of the way. Walking on the carpet or allowing furniture to remain will hinder the drying process.

3. Call the professionals – You should have known by now as a faithful reader of our blog this was coming. Like always, we have the tools and gear to pull water up from the padding and dry the carpet even faster. We don’t want you to deal with wet carpet any more than necessary, so call us asap when you have water damage.

Is My Carpet Clean

clean carpet with smiley
We appreciate you as a customer and a regular reader of our blog. You have scheduled your carpet cleaning with King’s Carpet Cleaning and are very satisfied with our work. We are, after all, sticking to our resolution we set back in January. See? We haven’t forgotten it!

This month we are going to look at a question. It is a difficult question for anyone in the service industry to answer. Having a customer ask this question is painful. In our industry it is no different.

The question?

“How can I be sure my carpet is clean?”

This is a nightmare for the carpet cleaning industry. Cleaning carpet is how we make a living. It is how we pay our own bills each month. Poor performance on our part is death in this industry.

As difficult as it is, we are going to address this question for you. It is a hope that you will never ask.

How will you know your carpet is clean? This is a very easy question to answer.

Kings Cleaning Solutions uses more than a single step in cleaning carpets. It is a process, and a process that we take very seriously. Here are the steps we take.

  1. Vacuum – Your home vacuum is sufficient for what it does, but our professional, commercial grade vacuum really gets dirt and grime up as well as stir the remaining dirt and grime from the carpet fibers.

  2. Treatment – We have a special solution that we put down on the carpet. It dissolves dirt and oils. This treatment sits to work properly and fully.

  3. Neutralize – The treatment is serious stuff, so we have to neutralize it before we can move on. Don’t fret; everything we do is 100 percent safe for you and your family.

  4. Extraction – Now we bring in the equipment that most people associate with carpet cleaning. This is our machine that pulls the dirt, grime, oil and other unsightly messes from your carpet. The actual cleaning step.

  5. Air dry – We can bring in drying machines that will dry your carpet in about an hour, or you can elect to allow the carpet to dry on its own – about four to six hours time.

If after this you are still not satisfied with the carpet cleaning, contact us. We will come back to your home or business and make it right.

Eco-friendly Carpet Cleaning

eco-friendly carpet cleaning services
So you have decided to take better care of the environment and work towards a better future. This is great. What to do about the home carpet? Most of the chemicals used to clean carpets deeply and well from commercial carpet cleaning services are not necessarily eco-friendly. This is not to say there are not eco-friendly carpet cleaning services.

What King’s Cleaning Solutions does is offer both an eco-friendly design and standard carpet cleaning services. You may want to keep your carpets in top condition during your regularly scheduled carpet cleaning services. If so, keep reading for the top ways to have your carpets kept clean in an eco-friendly fashion.

1. Vacuum – This is a no brainer. Everyone knows to vacuum their carpet regularly. It is also the most eco-friendly way to help keep carpets looking good between carpet cleanings.

2. Spot treatment – There are a few things you can do for spots until King’s Cleaning Solutions makes it back around to your home. Depending on the type of stain, you will have options for what to use when cleaning. Salt is best for mud and wine; club soda works on coffee stains; cornstarch is the best for a grease stain.

3. Baking soda – The old standby for odors works perfectly well on your carpets. If you have pet stains and odors, sprinkle baking soda on the offending area and let sit. Vacuum as normal. This will take care of the problem quickly and in an eco-friendly way.

4. Make your own carpet cleaner – We want to stress to you that this is only a temporary solution and one that will hold you over until we can get back to your home carpet for a deep, thorough cleaning. Mixing baking soda, distilled water and an eco-friendly liquid soap is the way to go. Put into a spray bottle and use on spots in the home. Simple.

5. Call Kings – We would hope that you are already using our services on a regular basis. If not, we encourage you to contact us today. We will come out, perform an inspection and provide you a quote that is both competitive and reasonable for your needs.

Kings carpet pushing harder on resolution.

We know what you are thinking.  You are thinking we have forgotten our New Year’s Resolution.  Most people, sadly, have long forgotten about their resolutions and have moved on with their lives.  Not us at Kings Carpet Solutions.  We are still working hard on our resolution to provide even better customer service, superseding our already stellar work we provide to our customers.  We intend to push harder than before.

That brings us to this month’s blog.  We have looked pretty hard at carpet cleaning techniques and tips, but we want to share a bit about what we do on a daily basis to bring you, the customer, the care and quality of service you have come to expect from us.  This is a bit about why it may take us some time to get to you and to your carpet cleaning appointment.

We start our day like most days.  We arrive at work and check the schedule.  Our customers who have scheduled cleaning often are first on the list, so we try to get to them first.  Our newer customers are worked into the schedule of the day.

We then turn our attention to our service vehicles.  We want to be 100 percent sure that we have everything to get the day going.  Even missing one part of our inventory check could set us back significantly from getting to our valued customers, so we take our time with this step.  It may take a bit longer, but we like to err on the side of caution when it comes to being ready to meet our customer needs.

We offer a service.  Those who provide a service often have issues that arise.  Mostly our issues come from the fact we strive to meet our resolution on customer service.  We cannot leave until our customer is 100 percent happy.  This is quickly resolved by staying until the work is done but doing so can put us behind by as much as a few hours.  This is not something we like to admit, but it happens.

Other times it could be a myriad of reasons that we are behind on coming to your home to clean carpets.  We will not cut corners to get to more customer homes.  We stand behind our work and insist on not compromising our standards.

Kings Cleaning Solutions, Customer service is more than just treating the customer fairly.

We hope your New Year’s Resolutions are in full swing and maintaining them has not been an issue.  Faithful readers of our blog know we take our work and customers very seriously, and we are working harder and harder every day to keep our customers happy.

You may well recall our New Year’s Resolution was to provide even better customer service than in the previous year.  This is going to be very difficult because we already strive to provide the best possible customer service in the carpet cleaning industry.

This brings us to this post.  There is a great deal of conversation about customer service, but too often, customer service is not clearly defined.  We are going to attempt to define customer service today.

Customer service is more than treating the customer fairly.  It is taking every element of the customer’s desires, needs and requests into consideration.  If it is feasible and within reason, there is no question that those three things will be met with a smile.

Customer service is also taking pride in what we do for the customer.  We have homes and carpet.  We have a solid idea and understanding of what carpet should look like at the end of a thorough, professional cleaning.  This idea in mind, we take it upon ourselves to have the customer’s carpet looking the exact same way or even better.  With our top of the line, professional equipment , it is very easy to make carpet look as if it were installed the day before yesterday and keep it looking this way for years to come.

Most of all, we have to understand the customer’s role in our work.  It is the customer that puts food on our tables, pays the utility bill and keeps clothes on our backs.  Without the customer, we would be dead in the world.  This means having our customers satisfied at all times means we are able to be equal parts of the local community, something we take pride in being able to say. Contact us today for any of your carpet or floor care needs.

Tile Flooring Cleaning Tips

Walk into a home with tile floors and showers, and you immediately have a feeling of something different and special that sets the home apart.  Tile is the ultimate for homes given all of its positives.  Your friends at King’s Cleaning Solutions want to be your partner in keeping your tile looking good between your regular scheduled cleanings.  We can easily add tile cleaning to your regular carpet cleaning without issue.  Call and schedule.
Meanwhile, we want you to have your tile looking as good as the day you had it installed in the home.  We have three great suggestions to you along with an excellent bonus suggestion.  Read on to learn what we are talking about.
#1 – Be proactive with spills
We all know to clean spills quickly as possible, but tile is more important than some other flooring types.  Tile and the grout between the tiles are very porous, and liquids will soak in and stain.  Clean your spills once they happen not when it is convenient for you.
#2 – Speed up the shower
We love the shower just like you do.  There is something about hot water cascading down your back after a long day that we love as well.  It pains us to make this suggestion, but it is not without merit.  Mold and mildew love warm and humid locations, and a soaking shower is exactly where this happens.  Turn on the exhaust fan and limit time in the shower for the best way to keep your mold and mildew at a minimum.
#3 – Squeegee
If you don’t know what a squeegee is, it is the side of the windshield wiper that wipes the water away.  Cleaning the inside of the shower and door after each shower will keep your tile clean and mildew free.  Use a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water once a week after squeegeeing to give the fight against mold and mildew a boost.
Bonus Tip – King’s Cleaning Solutions
Shameless plug we know, but it should not come as a surprise to you that we are the bonus suggestion.  Since we are already coming to your home to clean your carpets on a regular basis, why not have us take care of your tile and grout?  We can kill two birds with one stone and make your home look doubly beautiful.

Carpet Dents

carpet dent
Happy New Year from your friends at King’s Cleaning Solutions! We hope your resolutions are coming through successfully and are on track to meet your goals. We have also set a resolution for the upcoming year: We want to provide you and your family even better customer service than we have in years past. This means even more attention to details and minor parts of our industry that will set us apart.

We all know that carpet can make a home look great. One of the biggest drawbacks to carpet is heavy furniture can sit on carpet and cause dents and damage. This is a real problem, but it is one that can be avoided with a few simple tricks and techniques from your friends at King’s Cleaning Solutions.

Whether you are building a new house or installing fresh carpet in your existing home, taking a few extra steps to keep your carpet from being ruined and resisting damage is not that difficult. Some carpet varieties, berber is a good one, are tightly woven or lower than some carpet and as such resist dents better than their other counterparts. You can also elect to use padding underneath your carpet for additional support.

We all know the coasters used under glasses and cups designed to keep water from staining end tables and the like, but there are also coasters available for furniture. The large, flat design helps spread the weight across a larger surface, making coasters perfect for sofas and tables.

Moving your furniture every so often can make a difference for your carpet’s long term durability. You don’t have to move furniture often – annually should be good enough. This is also a great way to keep your home looking new and fresh, something that never gets old in a home.

Are you looking for a new partner in your home carpet care? Is one of your resolutions to take better care of your home and carpets? King’s Cleaning Solutions would love to be a part of your new year’s resolutions by providing you with quality carpet care. Contact us; let us be your partner.

Proper Planning is a Must for Any Home Improvement Project

Once you have lived in your home for some period of time, you will realize that you need to go in for some form of home improvement so that your home is that much more comfortable and nicer to live in. Such needs can come from betterment in your own economic situation, the need for better facilities, additions to the family or even health requirements of invalids or the elderly.

Any home improvement project must be undertaken after it has been thoroughly discussed with family members. You then need to completely plan it, budget it and then execute it. Planning will need you to decide on the floor, walls and ceiling of any addition or modification to existing rooms. Then you need to decide on themes, colors and materials that you want for the improved area. A final step will need you to decide on the furniture and accessories that are needed to make your home improvement area into one that is very usable.

Detailing all the required improvements can help you to arrive at a budget and likely cost. This will help you in case you need to arrange additional finance. Some home improvements can be funded through second mortgages if you have built up sufficient equity on the first one. This will ease financial problems, but will increase your monthly outgoings. Be sure that you can afford this, before you decide on this way of financing your home improvement.

Once you have done the detailed planning and arrived at your means of financing, you need to move the next stage of implementation. Any home improvement can be quite a pain in the neck, if you are continuing to live in the home, while the work is being done. If you can find temporary accommodation elsewhere this can help things to be done faster. If however, you need to continue to live in the home, see if you can create sufficient space for the work to be carried out. You also need to be sure that sufficient attention is paid to safety, especially if there are children and pets in the home.

Home improvement projects can be carried out by professionals or by avid DIYers who get the additional kick out of improving their home. If you have professionals doing the work, ensure that you have a proper schedule, that is suitable to the family. If you are doing it yourself, your home improvement will probably be restricted to weekends and other free time and may take a much longer period of time.  You may then need to be even more careful when you buy the required material, so that you do not fall short of vital components at awkward times.

A lot of debris and dirt and dust is created by most improvement projects. You must make sure that such debris is never allowed to accumulate and create poor hygienic conditions. This can otherwise turn into health hazards. Materials and fitments can quite often also become concerns for safety and security and this aspect also needs to be sufficiently addressed.
